Ofcourse not. I personally hate football, but I don't think they're are overpaid. That's a dangerous sport and they are in danger every time they play. Now basketball players they are overpaid. So I think.

You are wrong, not everyone likes football, i hate it! And only those who have mind don't like it! They are surely overpaid for just kicking a ball, other people use their brain and work hard to earn the money that they do without any brain of course, an animal can kick a ball and a baby, i mean hello are they genius for doing that???!!

They typically have very short careers, have to go through more intense training that alot of currently employed members of the armed forces, however in much nicer conditions. That being said, they are grossly overpaid, whats worse is they rarely do anything nice with their money, take a look at some of their salaries and you'll throw up on your keyboard, they pay for my mortgage in a month...it will take me 15 years to pay that off at my current mid range salary. Football clubs in general need the allure of masses of cash to get in new stars, it all depends on what motivates these people, their greed and thugish behaviour suggests its now just about money. Without the new stars however the industry would dry up and no one would want to watch it - losing companies, pubs, cities alot of income.

yes ridiculously overpaid. There are children in Africa starving and these pompous overpaid football players getting paid thousands just for one game, which most of the time they don't even play well in.

I guess you mean premiership club level?
Don't forget that footballers need to train like any other athlete! I'm not sure how much training they do but I'd guess at least 4-6hrs+ per day??
They also have a relatively short career.
'though, yeah.. I'd agree they are 'overpaid'.

All sports players are overpaid. But as long as pepople pay to see them get hurt & run around like kids the players will be over paid.

Yes, overpaid. Way overpaid.
If they weren't so overpaid, tickets to games would be cheaper, along with TV advertising and the cost of products associated with the advertising...
They should play for closer-to-minimum wage and play for the love of the game...

Oh my GOD yes they are overpaid.
Most are borderline retarded and cheated their way through college. I mean, being good at a sport is equal to being good at math or good at teaching people... therefore it should have about the same salary. Most of their fortunes are made through endorsements though, so I understand that type of stuff - like Pepsi or Nike paying millions to use a celeb's name.
Meh, that's the way the world works... Athletes are paid better than the Prez.

Premiership players are way overpaid, but when you get down to the level of League One, League Two etc, then I think the players earn a fair wage for the entertainment they provide for the fans.
