I thought, and still do think, that final fantasy 9 was the best game ever made. The music, as is with every final fantasy game, was amazing. The movies were beautiful. The plot was enigmatic and powerful. The characters were deep and each had their own personalities. And the world with the chocobos and the flying ships and the treasure hunting and all of the cities were just icing on the beautiful cake of a game.
