I don't know how to prolong the hair regrowth but I have noticed that on my wife that the more she does it there is less hair that comes back each time.

With repeated waxing, hair growth will slow down due to the constant shocks to the hair follicles.

There is a prescription product called Vaniqua that is designed to reduce facial hair growth in women. You could consult your doctor about alternate uses. Some drugstore-shelf moisturizers include ingredients to slow hair growth (usually derived from soy complexes), however these types of products would likely irritate sensitive bikini-line skin.

I suggest sticking with waxing, or adding some laser/electrolysis to your hair removal routine.
