Yes those so-called micro organisms eat us up. When you itch it means they eat more and more soon we will all be eaten alive.

Can it be you have dry skin, so it can be close to eczema or so??? Eczema can make your skin itch and scale at times, i now from my 4 year-old boy...........i have mild itching, but if i dust the house or work in a storage room, i almost immediately start to itch everywhere in the body........
Sometimes extreme heat cal also cause that, or other skin conditions.....can also be ticks, or small insects that can go under the skin and lay their eggs there....
Go See a Doctor, your best bet and the Best advice i can give you...
Also do some research on the internet

your skin itches when the skin is not moist enough or if something foreign punctured it (mosquito bite, syringe, etc).
dead skin cells on top of live skin cells kind of deprive the skin of moistness, so the body responds with an aggravating reaction; by scratching it, the dead cells are removed and skin is eased (itch isn't gone now because problem is the increased aggravation you caused by scratching; full circle, huh).

Your brain actually causes the itching sensation. Any sensation you have is generated by the brain. It's your brains way of getting you to get rid of dead skin cells. Or if you get a bug bite, it's because the histamine tells your brain to itch and scratch.

Two things: the movement of hair follicles on certain body parts, which ignite receptors of the nervous system.
Or a chemical called histamine, which results in itching as well as red swelling. Physical and chemical senstations are pretty different, but I don't know about their feeling.
Itch is a good reaction to foreign objects because, for animals, it defends them from microorganism. eg fleas.

Most of the time our skin itches because of the dead skin, and I don't think anything eats it.We take showers/baths to rid us of it.

Irrataion to the skin of any kind. Internal or external irratation. Something to aggravate your pores and/or nerve endings. You really can't feel micro-organisms.

What causes you skin itch is called "histamines". This is why most anti-itch medications have "anti-histamines".
It's true, ask your science teacher.
