my husband has been working at this place for 2 years. And all of a sudden one day the company got bought out by another company. They said they were gonna keep all of the workers and not cut anyones pay. But in the 8 months science this new company took over they have cut my husbands pay and cut his hours and he has been passed up numerous times to move up in the company, when he was promised he was gonna be the next to move up. Is that leagle? any of it?

If the offers were made in writing he would have a legal argument, however because mosts states are employee at will states, companies can hire and fire for almost any reason and unless they fire or dismiss someone from a protected class there is no legal recoures, unless there was a contract.

Isn't it disgusting what companies are getting away with these days. Many of them buy other companies, run them into the ground, take the equipment and buildings and sell them, then close down the plants. They bring in their employees that are losers from elsewhere and make life miserable for everyone.
If that isn't bad enough, some of your fellow co-workers turn on you and are the biggest back stabbers, later on they will also lose
their jobs and cry foul. I wish I would win the Sweepstakes.

Unless the statements they made were in writing, which I'm sure they weren't, there is not much of a case.
