I'm trying to locate my relatives.
One of them wrote in the early 1970's in her letter that her daughter lives 47 900 ft high in Arizona (USA). Where might that be? Educated guesses / knowledge?

OK. So the number must be wrong. How about 47 km 900 m?

Think you added an extra zero to that. 47,000 is about 7 miles up. But 4,700 is about where Flagstaff is.

Well the city of phoenix, is officially 1,117 ft. above sea level. Might be some areas that are only 900 ft. There are areas around Flagstaff that hit 7,900 ft. Although telling some one the elevation of where they live is really kind of strange unless it was unbelievable.

Have you tried a people search or gone through public records? If they are your family I would think you would know their name. In the 1970s the Phoenix area wasn't nearly as large as it is now. You can pay web companies to comb through records for you to find someone for usually around $20.

In the 70s I lived in what was considered the "boonies". We had corp dusters flying over our neighborhood because we were way out with all the farms. Now that is practically the middle of the city. It might be easier than you think to locate your family going through city records form the 70s.

Think you added a 0 -- it would be Flagstaff.

Phoenix is about 1,300 feet up. Nothing as low as 900.

The southern areas that might be that high are government land, so it would have to be north. There aren't that many locations in Arizona to find people due to BIA, Federal and State land, so it should be easy to locate them through public records.

Not possible. The highest point in Arizona is Mt. Humphries, around 12K feet.

The higher elevations are in the northern part of the state, Sedona, Flagstaff etc.

It's really hard to say because there are a lot of mountains in Arizona. She could live in any number of places.

There isn't anything with that elevation honey. I'm in Arizona and the highest peak in Arizona is Humphrey's Peak, which is 12,643 feet.
