I'm an old-school 1980's blue and yellow suit fan. I remember when it was "the bouncing bombastic beast." I remember when Wolverine's dialogue was usually <*schnickt!*>. Storm was hot but always brooding. Guys were dying to kiss Rogue but they'd die if they tried. Rogue also whipped Jauggernaught's butt by absorbing his powers... Magneto and Professor X were brothers, but they reacted to the holcaust differently. Magneto had two kids: Quicksilver and the Scarlet Witch. I vaguely remember Kitty Pryde having emotional problems too... always running off or something... Cyclops was always a dork, but he was like your brother, so as much as you wanted to see him killed off, you know you had to keep him around.

Anyhow, word is the new movie is a huge disappointment for people that collected the originals. Should I watch it? I'll try to keep an open mind, but the spring is kind of tight and might snap back shut...

Hmmm... Yes, I heard the sentinels are a must for the next movie. They need to either do it or quit.

Truthfully the remade movies never seem to live up to what the die hard fans expect, and it's kinda understandable. I myself not a huge fan was extremely fond of the first two movies, but was left feeling kinda empty after the 3rd one. I believe it could have been done much better. It seemed like it was a rush job or something, you know like they were just trying to get it out for the summer to compete with the other comic book hero movies. I personally would tell you to wait for it to come out on video. If you just feel like you can't, then definitely go to the matinee.

Well the reality is, the movie does not stick to the old classic stories like in the comic books, or even in the Xmen cartoon that was out several years ago.

I actually think that the new Xmen movie, while really good, was even somewhat of a let down from the first two movies. The biggest disappointment of the entire movie trilogy is that Rogue is underestimated. In the movie they protray her as just some innocent kid who can't touch anyone. The comics and even the cartoon she was a bit older and could fly and have extreme strength (both which I solely miss in the movies).

Here is a character by character analysis from the comics to the movie (Xmen 3)...

1) Wolverine, they almost have him right in the movie. He is a bit more on the freedom fighting front and works more with the team.

2) Storm... she is exactly like in the comics. They did a good job with her.

3) Cyclops... huge disappointment in Xmen 3. You will see why.

4) Juggernaut... way underestimated in the movie. In the comics he was a bit smarter (even though still dumb) and they didn't even show that his helmet can protect him from others entering his thoughts. (In the cartoon juggernaut was actually something of a super mutant that Xavier wanted to get in touch with)

5) Xavier... kinda a disappointment in this last movie. You will see why.

6) Ice man... he is much better in this movie than he was in the previous two.

7) Kitty... she is improved in the movie and about as good as the comics.

8) Magneto... he rocked in the movie. He is just as good as the comics and Ian Mckellan did a fabulous job playing him.

9) Jean Gray / Phoenix - She was good as the phoenix, but could use a little more special effects with the fire. They showed her on fire once, but in the comics she really lights up.

10) The beast.... Fraiser Crane on mutant drugs. He was kinda lame, but I have always hated his character.

11) Pyro... improved over the last movie, not too shabby.

12) Angel... lame, except when he was hiding his secret. You will see why.

13) Mystique... sexy as always. Nice naked shot in the movie.

14) Collosus... quiet, got a little more involved but not much. I would have liked to seen more of him.

15) What happened to nightcrawler? Lammeeeee

Overall the movie was great. I give it a "B". They just didn't go where they should have with it. They eluded to the giant sentinels in the danger room, which was awesome! However, it was only like 2 seconds.

I really want to see the modern Xmen go against Apocolypse and the 4 horsemen. That would be a movie that rocks! Throw in the sentinals too.

You can't afford to miss the movie, it is part of pop culture now and your friends will be talking about the movies for years to come.

Hope this helps!
