At Dumbledore's funeral, Harry sees a phoenix rising above the body. The phoenix is a symbol of resurrection. I think he's coming back.

I don't think that Dumbledore will return, seeing as he's dead. He was blasted with the Avada Kedavra and fell off the astronomy tower if anything. No, I think that Harry, Ron, and Hermione will have to go on their little adventure to find the Horcruxes alone. It only follows the rules of the fantasy genre. The hero must always go on without too much help or guidance.
And Sarah, I'd have to disagree with you. Gandalf and Dumbledore are to different people in to different series.

He definitely will. At his funeral a phoenix was rising from his casket/grave. And doesn't he say quite a few times that he'll always be there for Harry? I could swear he says that.
Plus you have to consider his purpose in the story. In many books, HP included, certain characters have to have a certain purpose. Dumbledore is the all knowledgable helper. They always come and help even when you think it's impossible. Didn't Gandalf come back? They have the same purpose.

Definately! And I don't believe that Snape is a bad guy. I think Dumbledore and Snape knew exactly what they were doing and we are going to find out what they are up to in book 7!

Well, if you read some of the stuff on the web, you will see at least one website devoted to Dumbledore not being dead. I think he is, but he may have arranged for himself to be a ghost, or like somebody said, have the picture give advice. Maybe he'll come back as a house elf...............................

I'm in with the crowd that thinks Dumbledore will be back and with Snape to help him. They may even have Draco onside now too.

i think he might. you just never know with dumbledore if you want some reaseons on how he will return , go to www.dumbledoreisnotdead.com, but ONLY if you've read the 6th book

of course, I've cried my eyes out, but I think he will definitely reappear, even if just trough the portrait in the Principal office

He'll probably provide advice via his portrait in his office. He's dead, though, and won't return to life.
