Marriage is a type of contract between a man and a woman. If gay's want legal recognition of their partnership a new contract type needs to be defined. This could be an opportunity to develop something legally better than marriage. If they want to have same benefits as a marriage then they should lobby for those benefits...income tax recognition of the contract, and an insurance classification that would recognize their life partner as a dependent. This is a double edge sword...divorce...breach of contract...alimony and pal alimony.

Does it matter? I think that whats more important is what they really feel for each other. No matter what gender they belong. Marriage isn't a assurance of happy relationship and it dont even assure forever. People will never make gay marriage legal everywhere but gay can still be happy with their partner if they want too.

I think that would be great. It would never pass. People enjoy living in sin so much, The government will back up the people that whine the most......... And people are always whining about being able to marry their gay partner.People that still have morals need to stand up for what is right. Email your MP.

"Marriage", yes. "Union", no.
All weddings certified by the state should be labeled as "unions", not "marriages", regardless of gender. "Marriage" is a religious term for the union of a man and a woman.
