I don't think they were good. They need better performance against the other teams in the group... But let me watch now the other game! :)

Germany disappointed me. The attack is OK, but the defense could not cope with any long balls -- and that, coming from a really very weak and untalented team like Costa Rica.
Unless they improve dramatically, they won't go very far.
Based on this Friday's two games, I believe Equador can beat or at least tie them and be first in group A.

If they play the way they did today against one of the stronger teams like England, Brazil, or Spain--they will lose for sure. They played like crap compared to 2002.

i think they played well, but not the best they can do
the thing with the German team is they always suck at the begining of tournaments but the get better as the teams get harder and the stages get more difficult.
i hope they do the same this year.

Germany was obviously better than those crappy friendly games, but they need to improve their defense and middle. They were good shooting from a long distance. Costa Rica played well too
