Considering Africa is an entire continent, the climate is different depending on what area as well as the standard of living. If you're referring to areas of Africa where there are tribes then they tend to stay in the shade. If they spent over 6 hours in direct sunlight then there is a good chance that they would burn. However, if they are in the sunlight all the time then every day their skin would become more resistant. I hope this question was serious because if not you're a total deuche.

Ha ha this is a funny question. I live in africa and I have seen my friends with sunburn. It looks worse cuz there skin goes red but when its black it looks so dark and really sore.
The whole thing about skin colour is melanin and darker skins are less likely to get sunburnt but after long exposure and in the current ozone situation it can happen sooner than previously.

yep - i'm brown not black but I still get burned *baaad* when I'm out 1/2 day on the beach without sunblock. It happened a few times, so now I don't take chances - it goes red and reallly *hurts* then it starts to peel *shudder*

Black is the natural color of the human skin. White skin is absence of a pigment (melanchony). So, dark complexion is naturally protected against sun. But, all the people in the world can get sun stroke but not sun burns.
