Some would say so, they are both highly addictive, costly and over time can ravage your body. People do rob for money for booze, just you hear about it being drug related because it shocks more. Alcohol is cheaper and more widely available, if you are skint, you could probably go to the pub with enough for a pint, but get brought drinks, you don't buy a line and then your mates tip up and say they'll shout you another!! What about boozers who beat the crap out of others because they've had a skinful, or pee up the side of your car or puke on your doorstep, is that any nicer? Drink in moderation. You only get one life, try to have things to look back on with pride when you go, not hazy memories of weekends out!

well lets put it like this: marijuana for instance is being used in medicine as an facilitation for epilepsy attacks. Belive me i've seen a lot of alcoholics asking for money, maybe they're on drugs too, but once you see their red faces you know where you're at. There's nothing wrong with a drink every now and then, but it can be as addictive as drugs. So no, i don't think you're a hypocrite. I understand you. I tried some of drugs, but i haven't been doing any of that for the last two years, but i do drink occasionally. Well you're looking from your perspective only, but you're not being wrong.

there have been cases of alcoholics stealing to get their next "fix" but I don't think you are really being a hypocrite. Alcohol is, or should be, a controlled drug. It is acceptable and actually good for you in small quantities. Harder drugs are really ad and illegal. I guess you probably wouldn't have a problem with people who smoke the occassional spliff but when you talk of drugs, I guess you mean like heroine addicts and that. There is a big difference except that all drugs are addictive.

Alcohol is nothing but a legal drug. Read up on "prohibition" in the 30's. Think about where this alcohol is coming from and who is making a buck from it. If the government could regulate drugs like they do alcohol, it would be legal, Dude.
OH, and alcoholics kill their livers every day and cause as much pain and suffering to others. Don't fool yourself. Moderation in all things is the key.

Alcoholics do rob people too. An addict is an addict and a criminal is a criminal, the fault lies with the person and not the substance.
Alcohol is a hard drug, as dangerous as cocaine, just more accepted. Many can handle it, many cannot. Such are the pitfalls of life.

No, but understand alot of these people need help.
There is more of a Stigma in taking drugs than there is in alchohol, Also Alcohol is easier to get hold of than drugs therefore its not as expensive.

drug addicts don't ask to become hooked, just like alcoholics don't ask - both addictions are as bad as each other, it's just that alcohol is more socially acceptable.
