601,000 / 1024 = 586.91 megs
the CD and DVD in the market capacity :
CD : 600 megs, 700 megs, 740 megs, 800 megs
DVD : 2600 megs, 3800 megs, and 4800 megs

A CD usually allows up to 750 megabytes, which should be enough for the file you describe. DVDs hold more but I don't think they work like a CD would of just being a data transfer device.

Ok, 601,000 Kb should be 600 MB that should be fine to fit on a standard CD of about 700MB. Just so you know, on a standard DVD-R (WIth Purple writing side) The very max you can fit is 4.37 Gigs(GB) of info, trust me, me and my geek friends tried "overburing" this amount to pretty much no avail.

It depends how big the storage is on the disk. YOU CANNOT PUT A MOVIE FILE ON A CD ONLY ON A DVD!!!!! I HAVE TRIED.... 1024 kb=1mb

A standard CDR is 740mb I think, then you can get them up to 800mb. A standard DVDR is 4.7gb.
