Water therapy is great because it's gentle on your joints and is resistant to your movement. You may think you're having easy exercise time until you get out of the water. I would recommend it for just about anyone over 5 years old. With a good physical therapist,it's a real workout without sweating or aching joints.

If there are any streams or bodies of water around you (i.e: lakes, seashores, creeks, even ponds), attempt taking her on a walk the place she will pay attention/scent the water, yet no longer see it and notice her reaction. If she looks fantastic seize up with to the water slowly all the at the same time as making the holiday friendly and staring at her reaction. Be calm the full time or she'll %. up on your rigidity and panic. If at any time she looks under pressure, annoying or panicky, attempt to calm her and supply her treats, then walk away whilst she is calmer. it would desire to take months or longer to get her over her worry. purely be calm and extremely affected person. She might basically have a terror of swimming pools and not water in particular. How does she do whilst she gets a bathtub? constructive coaching will circulate a protracted way, yet you're able to might desire to contain a expert it particularly is used to handling canines that have been traumatized.

Water is used becausthe work out is hard but not stressful on your joints like it would be when you are running on the pavement. Also, your body is a lot lighter so it is easier to move and easier on the therapist to assist.

Force of gravity decreases in water so you have less resistance when exercising. The elderly exercise in water for this very reason!

Resistance is greater giving you a better workout... and water makes you bouyant and therefore less affected by gravity... not likely to fall on your rear and break something.

Greater resistance than air, makes muscles work harder.

Buoyancy also helps support the person working out.

in water there is resistance but because of the weightless feeling you get in water (like walking on teh moon kinda) it is easier and has less pain involved but it works alot better because it actually works your muscles and joints harder.
