You will get over it in time.
You kind of have to greive and then one day you will look back and it won't bother you (as much).
Just like with death or splitting up with a boyfriend. Same principle.
When it happens; Go out with other friends, keep busy and distracted. Soon you will adjust and move on.

I lost a best friend about 4 months ago. At first it is really rough. YOu think about all the fun times u had together and it seems u may never find someone like them again. But once u start hanging out with other friends you realize that life does go on and that someday your going to have a "best friend" again. Based on the reasons why your not friends anymore, maybe try to make the friendship work again.

I lost a best friend who had been around for 5 years. Then suddenly we were strangers in the same room.
It's been two years. I still cry at night. I've never talked about it to anyone, ever, and I think that is why I'm still sad. Just make sure you deal with it in a healthy way. Don't hold it all inside or miss them too much. Just be happy they were there for a while and that you have the memories to enjoy.

Time heals all, a shoulder to cry on and supportive friends and family help a great deal but ultimately anything like that will only get better with time.
A great comparison I once heard was the pain you get when you break your arm or similar, when its there you can't imagine it ever going away but once its gone you can't even really remember what it felt like.

One of my bf's is moving this summer. But we'll still write and call. She's only going about an gour or 2 away though so it won't be so bad we can still hang out some. just keep in touch and try to make new friends. hang out w/ your other friends.

I lost my best friend since 2nd grade in our sophomore year of high school because she flipped out (went totally looney) and we stopped speaking. I got over it kinda quickly, but I still think about her from time to time.

You ever hear the phrase .... Every thing gets better in time. You make new friends. In time you may not forget your old friends but it won't bother you that their not around either.

Just let them live on through all the good memories of them. It hurts but at least you were blessed by being thier friend.
