i dont know much about my families history .but is there a way or a site to vist to look those things up?

There are some wonderful sites. Start with Genealogy.com
or rootsweb.com or ancestry.com. Some information is available for free, some requires registration and fees. If you know where your ancestors lived, try doing a Google search using the family name and the county/state. You'll come up with a lot of things. Local historical societies are great sources of information, and often have their own websites.

yes I have my family tree dating back to 1595 in Norfolk England. check out ancestry.com (same as rootsweb)

As far as I know it is only possible to look DOWN a family tree.

Looking up is seeing the future.
