people call me a bootleg Latina because Im Puerto Rican and Dominican and i dont know that much spanish...

people need to stop judging others...

how can i deal with this?

Laugh and let it go. After all, you are better than they are. If you weren't they would not waste their time trying to tear you do.

I guess I would be the same...only I'm half a bootleg! My mom is Mexican and my dad is White. I understand more spanish that I speak, but that's because we were constantly moving (dad was in the army) and mom just thought it was better for us kids to concentrate on the fact that we were going to be meeting a lot of different people from a lot of different cultures, and most everyone speaks english in the army. Ironically enough, my brother learned spanish after he joined the army! Don't let what anyone says about you affect how you feel about yourself or your heritage. I am just as proud to be hispanic as anyone else...just as I am equally proud to be white. Only you can say who you are. Everyone else just needs to get a life.
