CKD is the abbreviation for ‘Complete Knock Down’ whereas SKD is 'Semi Knock Down’. If the product is in CKD or SKD form it is not finished yet and needs some assembly processes. Obviously this is because of the difference in the custom tariffs levied on the finished product and on the semi finished product. For instance in China, the custom tariffs on domestic electrical equipment range between 16.7% and 30%, whereas for parts, components and accessories the custom tariff is 12%.
