I know Its only fiction but could these things subconciously make an imprint in your mind possibly to the point of making everyday life seem dull and unimportant. Some of the fight for survivial epics seem to make our little trivial pursuits unimportant.

Great question! I think that if people become desensitized about violence, the same can hold true for romance. I think that some people may feel as if their partner does not "measure up" because they are being compared to a fictional illusion of what an ideal mate would be like or do. On the big screen, he doesn't buy a dozen long stem roses, he buys a hundred dozen. On the big screen, he doesn't leave his dirty socks on the floor, always puts the seat down and can dodge speeding bullets. When watching the big screen, it is hard to know just how tired the wife is after working all day, taking care of the kids, doing house chores and still, somehow, she finds the energy to slip into something romantic and and has the energy to give him the most energetic, passionate night of his life.

It's hard for either of the sexes to measure up.

My feeling are other way around. We feel more attached to the life after seeing all this on screen. It looks like everyday life is so important, how important are those small moments to enjoy life. I feel that these big things on screen make them fake and only good for screen.

I don't want to sound crazy, but I always compare my love life to those in movies. It is rather pathetic, and it drives my boyfriend crazy. I can be totally sad about a relationship that isn't even real. I think they over-sensitize me lol

Gee, ya think? The more violence, sex, and fights for survival we see, the more desensitized we become to everything. That is why Hollywood is the crux of our societal downfall.

I agree. You're so right that I have nothing significant to add.
