country dancing also called line dancing!if not write it might be hip-hop but not really!so i'll go with country dancing(line dancing)!
or maybe even break dance but it depends on the region!??

Americans, as Dave Barry once pointed out, in his excellent book: Dave Barry Does Japan, are all wild cards. So it's possible we come out with a traditional dance, say ... every six months? Anybody see Kurosawas' ' Ran ' ? First time I ever saw a 'wave'.

I like the first person's answer.
American dancing is a fusion, with a little of this, a little of that. Hip-hop might be another. And, there's always that old PE classic: square dancing!

I think, something like the wild-west Quarterdance (perhaps written differently) would be quite unique to the US.
