If I were you I'd be doing mostly cardio in my workouts. If you're doing a lot of weightlifting or crunches, they don't hurt but they're not going to necessarily get rid of the fat at your sides. Keep your heart rate up the whole time you're working out. Don't take breaks and don't stop moving.

After 6 months your body can build up tolerances to a workout schedule. If you've been on the bike for cardio every day you need to start getting used to different machines. But even that won't get rid of those handles if you don't watch your calories.

Remember, even though building up lean muscle mass around that area helps - it doesn't mean that the fat will just melt off. Though having more lean muscle mass in your body overall will help you lose weight overrall and will help your cause in the end because lean muscle mass burns more calories.

Don't be discouraged - freshen up your workout and diet.

You may need to do cardio, some anyway. Weight lifting is better muscle burns calories while you rest as it scintillates. Vibrates that is. You can't spot reduce. The rule seems to be 'first hired, last fired'. So belly fat is usually the hardest to get rid of. Same for love handles. Just build a good, healthy routine. One that doesn't over do it in any area, that is balanced. You know, arms, legs, abs so on. Eat properly, don't obsess about dieting, you'll just sabotage yourself and stick to it. You'll drop the weight. Do some sports you love. That's a heck of a lot more fun than a gym. Talking to a trainer would be helpful too, sometimes it's not that you don't put in the effort it's just that you don't quite do the movements right. Proper form makes a HUGE difference. Good luck.

Are you eating healthy? Are you doing the right kind of exercises for you body type and how long are you exercising? Also you have to change up your routine at the gym to get results. As a trainer or nutritionist to talk with you.

This and the belly are the hardest to get rid of.
You have to watch what you eat and keep working out.
It takes time but you will get there.

Good Luck!!

depends on your diet and your body type. You cannot change from endomorf (fat always) to mesomorph (buff if you work out) or to ectomorph (always skinny).
if your diet is good and you still can't lose it, it doesn't mean you are out of shape it just means you are endomorph.
