It depends on how spread out it is. Small areas on your shoulders or around your breasts may be due to some excessive sweating. You may need to look at that. On small areas you can use topical benzoyl peroxide. If that does not work, you may need to see the doctor for stronger antibiotic cream like benzoyl peroxide and/or a topic retinoid like Retin-A.
If your back or chest have a large area involved, or has deep cystic lesions, you may need to consider oral medications. Oral antibiotics like Minocin work real well. You have to be careful of sun sensitivity. If that does not work, accutane often has to be used. Accutane has a lot of side effects, but can be very safe and effective under the strict observation of a doctor. If the acne worsens with your periods, there are birth control pills that may help like Ortho Tri-Cyclen.
So in a nutshell, if the area is small, watch sweating and use benzoyl peroxide. If that does not work, go to the doctor. If the area is large, you can try avoiding sweating and using the otc treatment, but you are probably just spitting into the wind. I would probably go see a doctor. Hope this helps.

Lots of water and get some sun. Sun seems to really clear acne on my back well. Also, zinc is supposed to be good to help with acne but always take it on a full stomach. Good Luck.

In my experience, Proactiv Solution is the best for any zit or acne, anywhere. All you have to do is wash the area of the acne and then apply the Repairing Lotion. And voila! In about a day (overnight is best), the acne/zit is gone!! I call it "zit zapper" for fun, because it basically zaps the zit right away!

Neutrogena makes something that is called Clean and Clear(?)and comes in a body wash, even though it is expensive, it works wonders! I have tried it and it really works! I had o use it for about a month or so because I was breaking out from being pregnant.

Ask your dermatologist. Or wait until you outgrow it around 25. Whatever you do, don't pick at it! And don't use a whole bunch of random remedies. That can irritate your skin more. Find one good product and use just that for a week or two and look for results. Good luck!

look for any of the products with salicylic acid in it; they will act as a drying agent. also, getting some sun on your chest & back can have the same effect.
