This is a pretty cool website where you can find out useful information, help other people, and avoid real work. But let's face it, who cares about the points? I reached level 2 and they gave me a yahoo answers wallpaper. Great, I helped their website out and now I can advertise for them? How about some real rewards?

The people who care about points are the people who hate having limits. I hated having a limit on my level because I like to help people and answer questions all day since I do at work too. As soon as I got to level 5, I realized I have unlimited answers, and then after I noticed the freedom, I stopped getting obsessed over it. Now I answer a few questions a day depending on how much of a help I could be.

Points do not mean much unless you want it to.
