Agents go to plays to look for actors to represent, but, talent agents can only represent "union actors." Union membership is expensive. In New York City, it cost $1,300.00 to join on of the actors unions!
You need photographs - they are very expensive. Classes are very expensive. It is not easy to go into the field of acting and be a success. It's a lot of hard work and mostly disappointment.
You have to get an agent, but, you can't get an agent unless you are in the unions!
Call the community theaters in your city and ask them when they have audtions. Also, ask them if you can be a volunteer, that way, you will get an 'up-close' look at what theater is really like.
Look in the theater/movie section of your local newspaper, that is where you may find auditions listed.
Yes, acting involves a lot of money. If you are in school join the drama department next fall.
When you graduate high school, major in theater and get an MFA degree Master of Fine Arts Degree in Theater.
You should take voice, tap, jazz and ballet classes.
Never look online for audions, most of them are scams and will try to charge you money!
NEVER, NEVER, NEVER pay to audition! It NEVER costs money to audition for a movie or play. If someone tells you that you have to pay, please, leave IMMEDIATELY, because they are lying to you.
ALWAYS take your mother or father with you to an audition.
