My fiancee and I split up about 6 months ago after being together for 4 1/2 years. We have a 2 1/2 year old son together. The first months of the breakup were hard, communication wise. He barely made an effort with his son. About a month ago, he has been calling me and wanting to be friends. We go out and he flirts with me. He told me he still loves me and wants to be around me, but doesn't want anyone. Can any guys give me a clue as to why he is acting like this?

We aren't currently being physical at all. The other night I asked to kiss him and he rejected me. Like I said he doesn't want anyone.

He was (is) seeing someone else and isn't sure things with her are working out. Or maybe he wasn't (isn't) seeing anyone else, but he is started to have second thought about being single, not sure if that is going to work out. He wants to keep you "lined up" in case things don't.

Does he want to get back together with you. He probably realizes that he still wants to be with you. You will have to figure out whether or not it is worth it to try and work things out.

Sounds like he wants to win you back but is trying to be a gentleman about it.
