Is the movie going to be so terrible that they have to tell us "oh by the way she eats *****, who cares. I don't hate gay people but I don't go out of my way to like them. SOOOO WHAT. We aren't supposed to see the movie because of what batgirl can do no we need to pay money to go watch a lezbian swinging from light pole to light pole or whatever. Now supposedly when someone is gay that makes them just like everyone else riiiiggghhttt. So why focus on the issue just make the movie? Us hetero's are always being told Gay people are normal yet we need to glorify them for being gay. It's like were not supposed to care but we are supposed to praise gay people for thier choice. Um...sorry no sympathy here. If she weren't gay I guess no one would watch it.

You're absolutely right.

These days, people are using homosexuality almost like some kind of gimmick. For instance, a friend of mine who saw Brokeback Mountain told me that it wasn't even a good movie. Yet somehow, it won all these awards just for being "controversial".

If a movie maker wants to include a homosexual character in their film, there is no reason to try to exploit that fact to make money. In the movie V for Vendetta, there are a couple of characters that are gay, but that is not exploited, nor is it even the central issue of the film.
If people want homosexuality to be something that is not abnormal, then they need to portray it as such. If I were a gay person, I would certainly feel offended if movies tried to highlight a character's sexual preference just so they can say they are "breaking boundaries".

It's the comic books. Batwoman (not Batgirl, there is a difference) will be a lesbian in the comic books.
It seems she has been a lesbian icon since the 70s, so it's really nothing new.

If you don't care then why did you just write a 11 sentence question about it? I mean, aren't you promoting it in a way?

And yeah, its Batwoman in COMIC BOOKS... not a movie.
