I have cleared out the cache, browsing history, cookies and everything else, but it's still slower than freaking Christmas, and sometimes it pops up with a message saying the connection was reset. What's going on? I hate IE, so I refuse to go back to using it, but I am forced to right now, and even it's screwed up.

I don't have wireless. I just plug it in to the ethernet card on the back of my computer, and just leave it.

Currently, hackers have found exploits in Fire Fox. I suggest that you do a spyware scan, you can use adaware, spybot search and destroy, run ccleaner, and also check autoruns at systeminternals. Do those and also go in physically and clean out your temp files and clear out your prefetch files in the prefetch folder in c:\windows\prefetch.

What I use, is Avant Browser, it uses the same processes as IE does, but is way better... Lets just say it's Fire Fox and IE mixed together, or hee hee, the love child of both browsers. I highly recommend it. After you try it and you don't like it, then do a reinstall of Fire Fox. I think version 1.0.5 is out... Hope this helped.

Sounds like the problem is with your hardware. I get the connection reset error only when my network connection drops out on me. Check your router, if you're on wireless check the signal strength. Does IE still load sites when this happens, you might want to check if it does. And yeah, if all else fails, contact your ISP but I would try resetting your router first.

Try opening it in Safe Mode (That's in the Mozilla Firefox folder in your Start/Programs list). If it runs ok in Safe Mode, then one or more of your extensions might be causing the problem(s).
