Well, virtually anyone can be a model; it just depends on which type of modeling you would qualify for. I am only 5'3", 110 lbs, and I have done a lot of modeling for lingerie shows (runway), and I have also done photo shoots. For high fashion, they usually want you to be about 5'9"...but I believe that the standards are changing to allow for more individuality more and more. Here is a website that you can go to www.modelmayhem.com that is how I met a lot of photographers, and you can begin to build your portfolio. Just be sure to have a parent with you at any shoots; there are some shady photographers out there!

How can I say this without being mean...

Just because you are 5'6 and think you are pretty doesn't mean that you are going to be a model, then again I might be wrong and you could be on the next vogue magazine...what are the chances? you should of being discovered by now.

if you want to do runway - you have to be stick thin and you have to be a little taller than 5'6". But you could do print, commercial and maybe even fashion. Send your pics to a couple of credited agencies (ford, elite, next, IMG) or, better yet, go to their open calls (you can look them up on their websites). They'll tell you if you've got it or not - but beware! They're brutally honest.
