Actually, ortho tri cyclen is a triphasic pill. This means that the pills at the beginning of the pack actually have less hormones than the pills in the middle or the end of the pack.
If you skip your placebos and go straight to the first pills in the next pack, they have less hormones than the ones you were taking from the end of the old pack. Your body then recognizes this fluctuation in hormones and usually what happens is you have some spotting. I heard this is normal with triphasic pills maybe you can just use a pantiliner. I assure you that this is not a serious problem.

The last week before the placebo week is a wek of a hormone called progesterone. The levels of progesterone increase and then stop when your week is over and that causes your period to start. Since you didn't have the week of placebo to have your period you will spot until you get to the progesterone pills again. Next time you want to skip your period open a new pack and continue taking the weeks pills before the placebo and it will keep your progesterone levels high so you don't start. Best wishes

I'm not sure what's going on - but I have done the same thing as you (skipped the placebo pills) and haven't gotten any spotting at all. But then again, I skip the placebo pills every other month so maybe my body is used to it... If this the first time you're skipping the placebo's, maybe that's why you're spotting - maybe your body isn't used to it. You may want to check it out with your gyno though.

Spotting can happen when you try to skip a period.
Just keep on taking the pills like you have been and it should reslove by your next period.
It is just your body trying to deal with the fact that you did not give the hormones are rest for a week to have a period.
You will be fine but may spot until your next period.

You're body is just trying to rid itself of what it doesn't need. It's not healthy to skip those pills. I take the same pill you do.

Try the Seasonale kind IF your ins. plan covers it. I WISH mine did - 4 periods a year, yeah I could totally handle that.

Your system just is just in shock. Keep taking you pills as scheduled do't worry you will be fine. Don't skip your period again. Let you body work it out. Every thing will be fine

i used to do that every month. it was the main perk for being on the pill i thought... the same thing happened to me ONCE and i spotted for like 12 days. very light spotting, but still a pain in the a##!!! i think your body just still wants to shed what is in there and it runs its own program when it does that...
