I has tried some title of Antivirus product, some of them is freeware also. When I tried the Antiviruses, I found out that it's not always freeware Antivirus is a bad product, and vice versa. Right now, the Antivirus I currently using is Avast! Antivirus home edition. Just want to get opinion about what Antivirus is the best right now to fight those pesky virus out there? I have read many sites that doing Antivirus "benchmarking", but I found a very different result in each sites (different sites = very different results). So I can't get any conclusion from those websites. Can you share your experience from using Antivirus?

I've been using AVG Antivirus Free Edition for Windows for at least a couple of years, and am very happy with its performance. It has free periodic updates and has not let me down yet. You can dowload it at download.com.

Hope this helps!

◙ The very best virus scanners are free. Mcafee & Norton Antivirus are mostly hype and won't do as good as the free ones.

◙ Download and install AVG. Use it first and see if it finds any viruses or trojans.

◙ After running AVG go here and runn this one online. No need to install it.

◙ Best spyware remover is Ad Aware. Download and instalkl the free version.

Go here and click "Comparatives" on the left.

None of the "big 3" free anti-viruses (Avast, Anti-Vir or AVG) have virus detection rates anywhere near as good as some of the paid solutions such as Kaspersky or NOD 32.

AVG and Avast are the two best freebies....just pay for a good one..it is protecting everything you have in the computer and people are unwilling to spend $30-40....hmmm?

To be honest, the best virus I have ever used is Kaspersky 6.0.
It's supposedly the best on the market, but it's not free.
The best free one is probably AVG Free or the one you are using now.

I have Avira AntiVir. Actually, I kept getting viruses and such on my computer, even though I had Norton Anti-virus...paid $80 for it...never did work. My guy gave me this web address and told me to download it. He said it's better than Norton, and it's FREE, so here you go. Research it and try it out if you would like.

I'm perfectly satisfied with Avast. I tried AVG but wasn't pleased with its geeky interface.

Avast is simple, fast, complete and flexible. I'd say stick with it.

AVG from www.grisoft.com has been a great use for me until now; I quit buying other ones since 2 years ago. Go for it and choose the free version (it updates dayly if you choose that way!).Only for home use!
