i need to find businesses with current info, but i can't find a real good search engine for that. sadly, yahoo, is mostly posting outdated and inaccurate info and i get returned mail like crazy. i need to find current info for my job (sales/marketing). let me know. thanks guys!!

Try Google. It searches more sites than Yahoo does, and it also does a better job at weeding out useless sites. Yahoo's search pulls up all the Geocities sites that contain the keywords you searched for, and very few Geocities sites have relevant information. Google doesn't search through useless sites like this, so your information is more on-topic.

Both Google and Yahoo turn up a bunch of pages posting wildly outdated information which they seem to have got by OCRing old phone books they found in a bin somewhere. If the companies have gone bust, often the only reference on the Web to them is via these useless sites.
For actually up-to-date info, try something like http://yell.com

Have you tried yellow pages. It's not a search engine but a business directory.

I use google for all my searches. That and yellow pages for addresses & phone numbers.
