There is little benefit to being a pornstar if you're a man. It's the only industry where the women get paid substantially more.

As for the women, there are perks such as (if you love it) all the sex you want, fame, lots of cash (if you're an A-List porn star), VERY LOYAL fans, and side-gigs like merchandising and magazine shoots.

The bad side is that you may get a reputation that you're immoral(such as indicated by someone where you'd "go to hell".. pretty judgemental there, ya? For that, you're going to hell, too), you're probably a bad actor, and rarely will you crossover to mainstream.

Now, there have been crossovers like Jenna Jameson, Ron Jeremy, Tracy Lords and a few others but they're more like novelties than anything.. but who cares? They're friggin' rich.

And to the person who said "Plenty of STD's", the porn industry regulates their actors. They get tested EVERY WEEK.

In my opinion,I can not think of one thing that a person could benefit from being a porn star.Unless your life's ambition is to become a hooker! It is degrading for both men and women, it can lead to rape,child molestation,perversion.I can not imagine how a woman could degrade herself in doing such things! The sad thing is too many young men might have the attitude that all women are low life's after viewing porn! They should be rounded up and put behind bars.It can only add to demoralizing this nation!

Some are only doing it because they would like to get into "normal" acting. Others are doing it to support themselves and their children. Still others are doing it to put themselves through college.

It's a shame that good people need to turn to stripping and porn as careers--and that normal jobs don't pay enough.
