Assuming you need help with your homework...
10x = 50
1. Whatever you do to one side of an equation... if you do it to the other side, the two sides are still equal; therefore:
10x divided by 10 is equal to 50 divided by 10.
10x=50

2, 10x divided by 10 is x and 50 divided by 10 is 5; therefore:
x=5
NOW, to check your solution:
If x equals 5, then
5 X 10 = 50
which is true because
