I am thinking about writing a book, but I need to get my notes together. I also found I know very little about selling anything from the music book I sold 3 copies.

Try finding a publisher.

Self-publishing could be a good option. Do a search online for "self publishing" & sites will pop up.

Here are some book titles that are relevant:

* The Self-Publishing Manual: How to Write, Print, and Sell Your Own Book, 14th Edition by Dan Poynter
* Complete Guide to Self Publishing: Everything You Need to Know to Write, Publish, Promote, and Sell Your Own Book (Self-Publishing 4th Edition) by Tom Ross
* Smart Self-Publishing: An Author's Guide to Producing a Marketable Book, 3rd ed. by Linda G. Salisbury, Jim Salisbury
* Self-Publishing For Dummies by Jason R. Rich

There are lots of free informational resources out there as well. Check the source box for links to articles.

Also, be sure to copyright your work. You can do this at the US Copyright Office. Go to the last link in the source box for Literary Works. The application is fairly simple & the cost is $30 per application (it will rise to $45 by July 1).

Hope that helps! I wish you much success & happiness in all your ventures!

A good cover, title and opening sentence.

Next think up a metaphor that will touch a chord with the press, and with the many online fora - whatever your topic, there bound to be plenty of relevant ones on the internet.

Do a bit of buzz marketing, but make sure that you also offer substance, at least if you plan to write a second book.

Search yahoo.com for "self publishing" opportunities. You can actually get a book printed for you at a pretty reasonable cost and then go forth and sell it on your own, use ebay, amazon, and hit up the local book stores. I also think there is one called ipublish.com but I haven't checked it out in some time, but they basically print on demand (another good search term) for you so you don't spend tons of money up front.

I´m writing a children´s book, I have no idea when I´m going to finish it... but I already though about how to promote it, I think that doing it in a shopping mall is a very good idea, what¨s the subject of your book? mine is gypsys so I though about doing a little exposition, etc.
