hmmm i beleive in life we take only forward steps.... we may fall...stay over a place...run...but we cant take a step back....
if u mean by "take a step back" = fail /loose something
then no way u are not a looser... or u didnt fail... nobody fails at life till when he/she stop trying...u are taking a step forward or backward...that itself means u are trying to do something... u are attempting and in between if u fail once... or twice or all three times u fail to get what u wanted... still i beleive u are not a failure in life.!!!! ...u tried (took a step wherever it may lead to) that is important

Sometimes, you have to take two steps back and even though you may be only taking one step forward at a time after that, it is those two steps that when combined with the others that bring you the greatest of wealth. You cannot fail unless you have not given anything of yourself!

Good question! If the sole purpose of life is to go forward then I guess we failed, however, life is a collection of choices; personal choices. So moving forward depends in "who is the observer".

Nope - because next time you'll probably take 3 steps forward and only 1 back... and anyways, what does it matter if you're having fun?

NO, YOU JUST MOVE A LITTLE SLOWER THAN SOME PEOPLE. BUT LOOK AT THE BRIGHT SIDE. SOME PEOPLE NEVER STEP FORWARD. THEY ARE ALWAYS TAKING 3 STEPS BACK. THEIR THE ONES THAT WILL FAIL.

no, as long as you move forward in life you will not be a failure, it is only when you stand still and stagnate as a person do you fail in life.
