While XP includes software (IIS) that will allow you to host web pages, 99.9% of ISPs will not allow it. Their bandwidth is not good enough to handle the traffic. They would kill your connect so fast it would make your head spin. So unless you have a few thousand dollars in month to invest in your own T1 netowrk line, you would be best just to stick to hosting on existing sites. There are enough excellant free and low-cost ones that creating your own is pointless.

that will wear it out really fast.

if someone goes to your site it will load really slow from your pc unless you have a really fast connection to the web.

but incase you have decided to ignore me go here and install this freeware server package. ask them any question you have about it.

install microsft IIS

or

apache server

and you can host your website with these softwares
