I guess he felt he was done. Why do people quit jobs or retire, cause there done.

All of these idiots are saying that he took steriods and because he corked his bat and stuff but thats not true. Sammy has been playing for a long time. He is getting to old so he has gone into semi-retirement. He did not take steriods. He said under-oath that he did not take steriods and he is a real good man. He would never lie under-oath. People that say its because of steriods are either jealous Cardinal fans or jealous White Sox fans. The White Sox are the other Chicago team that is just there to make it an even 32 teams.

The Nationals gave him a 500k offer, but he wanted 1 million. I also think it was because he wanted to get away from baseball because of the steriod accusations. I think he made a good decision too, because he is getting less criticizim than someone that just hangs around and destroys his legacy (Barry Bonds)
Any ya know what, I dont hate Bonds because he used steriods, I just hate him because he comes off as such an idiot AND he used steriods. Its kind of like Terrell Owens, people dont like him because of his attitude.
Bonds was a HOFer without the sterioids, and so is McGwire, Sosa, and Palmero, but the steriods just gave them more power. You still need to have a good eye and talent to hit a ball that is coming in at 90 mph.

It seems nobody wants him. The Cubs let him go, then he went to Orioles. They didn't call him back up when the season started this year. I think that is bad, he is a good baseball player. I just read that in the paper the other day.

Because he's a bum, he couldn't even hit a ball if it was on a pole, when he came to Baltimore he was a big disappointment and so was Rahael. Those two can watch the games together cuz there not gonna be playing any more.

he used steroids and would be nothign without them. Unlike Bonds who still can play (even if he took steroids). He is simple an unbelievable player. However, Sammy started going downhill and he just had to leave.

Just read that his injuries are preventing him from working. And The orioles didn't resign him.
