Yes, they helped the British fight the Japanese for a long time before the US got involved. So did New Zealand I think.

Yes indeed. Far ahead of the US forces too as has been correctly pointed out.
All Commonweath nations sent troops and had soldiers in Europe from day I. America kind of dawdled until the war was all but won. Then they declared themselves the winners. Wankers...
