I feel like kittens/cats are better than puppies/dogs. Theres nothing wrong with puppies or dogs, I've always wanted a cute little fluffy one. But the advantage with kittens and cats is that they could be litter trained due to their ability to hold their bladder for a long time. While a dog will just go poo whenever he feels like it. Which means there's a lot of mess to clean in the house or you need to watch your dog a lot to see if he is about to go. Cats also become more independent as they grow. But remember, any puppy or kitten is a lot of work. They are like babies. Goodluck!

Well it depends if you want to spend a lot of time with the animal. A cat is very independent. They will love on you one second and then avoid you the next. They really don't care if you talk to them or pet them most of the time. A dog will always be under you wanting to do something with you. A dog will get very sad if you don't pay it any attention.

they are both cool but dogs are my favourite. Cats can be very unpredictable and it is hard to prevent them ripping up the furniture. Dogs however can easily be discouraged with a no! (obviously they have to learn the word NO! You can litter train cats but the litter box will end up smelling and it is horrible having to clean the litter box out but dogs can be houstraind, don't smell in the house (if fed and kept clean properly) and the basic rule of thumb is that dogs can hold the toilet for 1 hour of every month the have lived up until 9 months. first lol) you should go to your local animal shelter and decide when you get their. Just pick whatever one you find the most appealing, that is what i did and my dog is PERFECT for me. Every one i know who has done this has found their perfect pet! Good Luck! I Hope You Find Your Perfect Pet!!!!! e-mail me at emz250892@aol.com once you get your pet!

It really depends on your taste. If you want less maintenance get a cat. You won't really have to do anything besides feed it and clean the littler box. And if you want an animal thats always going to want to be right by you and takes a lot more care get a dog. I love both, I have both. Dogs are a lot of fun cause you can take them to the lake and stuff.

It depends on your lifestyle. If you have a lot of free time, a dog would do 'cause dogs need more attention than cats. For example, dogs need someone to play with, someone to give them walks, etc. For cats, they are more independent and they can play with themselves. Congrats on getting a new pet!

Nope, I had dogs all my life and love them! Now in our new place we couldn't have dogs so I opted for a cat and there is a HUGE difference, my cat is lazy, boring and doesn't show to much affection.

My opinion is that cats are for people with a busier lifestyle, because they need less attention and are more independant. Now, dogs are the most sweet animal there is, they are always begging for attention and show you their love, but you must returned the attention.

I grew up with a dog, and now I have a cat. I love them both, but honestly, I think I am a dog person at heart. Dogs are most affectionate, they follow commands, and there is something nice about them needing you. Yes, cats are more independent and less work, but you get what you give.

(I still love my cat to death!)
