Maybe it's cause that's been your track record thus far. If not, he should trust you until proven differently. Invite your boyfriend for supper--then they both can show their true colors! Any guy that doesn't respect their girl's dad isn't too cool. I know not everyone's dad is like mine but most dad's have a better idea of what's going on with other guys (like your boyfriend) than you would. Give them both a chance BUT pay attention---dads are very protective of their daughters and can pick up on things that can harm you better than you can!

Well, first thing is how old are you and how old is your boyfriend? How long have you been dating him? There has to be a reason he does NOT like him. We as parents don't just up and start hating like that we have to have good reasons why ... Ask your dad what it is...

Tell him that is not his business. But be careful. Once you do this you have all the responsibility for your decisions. If you get in trouble... it's just your problem. If he is a good father he will help you anyway but don't count on that. Independence has its downside.

Well, if your dad hasn't met him, then introduce them. Maybe if he finds out he's wrong, he'll lay off.

your dad is older than you so if he doesn't like your b/f then theres a good reason...pay attention to what your dad is saying..he has experience and he wouldnt tell you something (like your b/f isnt right for you ) if he didnt think that.
