He works for the Dodgers as a Spanish language color commentator. In 2004 he came out of retirement and pitched in the Mexican Pacific Coast League during the 2005-2006 season at the age of 44. His son Fernando Valenzuela, Jr. (#35) is an infielder for the Chicago White Sox Single A Kannapolis Intimidators in North Carolina.
