Already have Cuban players, and we have teams in Canada. Next could be Mexico City.

Cuba did have a couple minor league teams - the Havana Cubans, from 1946-53 (in the Florida International League) and the Havana Sugar Kings (International League) from 1954-1960. Castro's revolution made the team unfeasible. Currently, the trade embargo prevents any teams affiliated with US interests from locating there. Once that embargo is lifted (probably after Castro dies), it's quite possible that a team would locate there.

First, the American government would never allow it. Do you remember the fit they pitched when Cuba played in the World Baseball Classic? It would be like that, only multiplied several times over. There is no way that the US government will ever allow anyone in Cuba to benefit financially from Major League Baseball.

Second, the people of Cuba do not have the money to support a MLB team. People there can't afford the equivilant of $25 for a ticket and $5 for a hot dog-- at least, not for 81 home games a year, every year. That's one argument why they didn't move the Montreal Expos to San Juan, Puerto Rico. The people might be able to support it for a handful of games a year, but not for a full season at the level necessary for MLB.

Mexico City will be the only place out of the US and Canada that has a MLB team. Havana wont have a team if New Orleans, Oklahoma City, and San Antonio dont have them.

well the main reason is the trade imbargo, besides there's no money in Cuba. which means that players getting paid a 1,000,000 in USA would be making like 50,000 a year in Cuba

cuba and the US don't get along, players would have to pass customs, it's an island, and canada is practically the US anyways, the southern part at least

i think we gotta get a better relationship. and the mlb probubly doesn't think that it'll have enough peeps goin to the games and will cost them money more then they'll get money. so they'll lose money and that's the last thing they want. but i do think we should at least try it
