Definately agree with fluro bulbs-- they do cost more but mine have literally lasted YEARS-- and on 24/7-- I have 14 watt giving off 60 watt light. I'm very renewal and thrift minded. I would rather spend that money on a pedicure!
The point about the bulb being too strong for the fixture is also true-- and is a fire hazard.
good luck

Poor quality lighting fixtures prevent the heat, created by the light bulb, from dissipating adequately and the bulbs burn out from the excessive heat.

HERE IS Another possible reason... TRUE STORY - -
Did you move from a dry climate to a humid area - Like FLORIDA
- I did.... AND The light bulbs burn out here in Miami 10 TEN Times faster than DRY Southern California ..
So do light switches,,,,, oh the humidity of it all....

try using compact fluorescent bulbs they run cooler and will outlast regular bulbs by 5 or more times. they are also far more power efficient and will save you in the long run.
