My best friends little brother is in high school. schools have clubs for students to get involved with. chess, 4h, and other stupid stuff. now, chicago is one of the largest culturally diverse cities in the world, so naturally schools encourage african american clubs, latin clubs, asian clubs and so on. well, they're white. and he and his white friends wanted to start a caucasion club, but all the teachers were too nervous to sponsor it. What kind of bull is that? why not have a caucasion club?
what's wrong with people.

worst part is, they asked every body up and down the school from the board to the principal, and they all said it was just too risky with possible legal action.

i don't think it should be called a Irish, Italian, german club, it needs to be considered a caucasion club because not all white people are italia, irish, english and so on, there are so many of us that you need the clubs name to be caucasion club, since when did the word caucasion offend anybody? people should be proud of what they are and people need to respect that, and the girl on here who says shes italian and doesn't consider herself white? then what the hell are you? all of my italian aunts, uncles, and cousins consider themselves white, and if you told them that they weren't you'd probably get hurt,

Because all the other clubs are based on "nationalities" rather than just the color of their skin. now I know what you're saying: "but what about about the black club?" It's not a black club, it a club for people of African heritage, Africa being a continent. and the people at this school of african heritage just happen to have black skin. The Latin club is for people of latin heritage, the asian club is for people of asian heritage. White is not a heritage, it's a skin color. if there was a Yellow club and a brown club, you might have a point. But since there's not, you don't. "Caucasian" is not a place, African Asian and Latin American are. If you want to start a club for the white students there, why not form a German club, or a french club or a Polish club or an even an Anglo club, since people from those heritages are primarly, if not toally, white? Ethnic clubs get together to discuss and celebrate aspects of their culture. What is a "white" club going to do, get together to discuss skin? Instead of whining about skin color, why not form a club to celebrate your family particular heritage, be it German, polish, French, whatever, and share that heritage with the rest of the school? Skin color and heritage are two different things. Start realizing that and stop whining.
Oh, and I live in Chicago too and as you know we have holidays and parades and months celebrating German heritage, polish heritage, Irish heritage... so whites have nothing to complain about.

Caucasion is just another name for "white". A White person can be "african-american", latin, asian etc, but only a white person can be a Caucasion. Sounds racist to me. How about a Irish Club, or a English Club, or Italian Club instead? I don't see any of those other groups called "black club", or" yellow club", etc..

All thngs America is caucasian clubs. It's the other races that has to adjust and adapt and overcome the obstacles. It's mandatory that we learn US history, which is Caucasian history. So why should there be a Caucasian club?
And there is a such thing as Caucasian television. It's called NBC, CBS, should I go on. How many of these networks allow an all black sitcom? We're lucky if we get one on the show. And as far as awards goes... Oscars. There has to be special award shows for other races because if there aren't, then the other races wouldn't get the recognition that they should have. Why haven't Samuel L Jackson receive an Oscar yet?

Its typical racism. I'd report the teachers to the school board and the ACLU. This kind of bull ought to end. I have Congressmen in the Hispanic Caucus, but there is no White Caucasian Caucus.
Turn them in!

I agree! Talk about hypocracy! Why should other groups get to have a racially based club, but yet certain races are not "allowed" to do it? It makes NO sense to me! There isn't equality in that. Sounds like some sort of racism against caucasians.

I'm not racist either, but damn what would you do in a caucasian club? Maybe if you convinced your teachers and told them the agenda for the club and told them what you would do and if you got enough followers who said they would be in it, the teachers couldn't say no. I personally can't think of any purpose of that though except to cause trouble.

the school official are smart they know that if white people get together and start a club it would be ignorant and hateful. in life it has been known that white people can not get together and have a normal friendly club it always turn out to be hateful and harmful to others that are not like them!

I like your brother and his friends. I have the same complaint. Why can't we have an organization to celebrate OUR heritage? Why can't we have a "European-American" club? I've got nothing against other races either, but when Blacks, Asians, Latinos, or other groups form their clubs, aren't they promoting segregation? They fought for years and years to have equality. They argued that "seperate but equal" was not "equal", but now there are numerous organizations that encourage separation.
I don't get it either.

there is nothing wrong with a causasion club. it just makes people nervous because when people think of an all white group the automatically think of KKK or various hate groups. Tell the kids to go ahead with the group. screw the teachers.
