I didn't get a driver's license until I was nineteen. I heard older people swearing when I was a younger (10?). There was something about the tone and brevity in which they did it. I knew that I was too young to swear and that this was a rite of passage. When I was around 12, a few of my peers began experimenting with the words. I interpreted this, at the time, as a sign of maturity and was prodded by peer pressure. I initially began to seek acceptance with others.
Today, much of the expletives I spout are in my car. Mostly, I use unflattering terms which don't really qualify as cussing. I am aware, although, that the intent is similar.

Learned how to swear when I was young. Now when you drive you have a whole new language to learn. Sign language. Especially the middle finger.

No, I learned all the swear words before I was 7. I'll never forget my little brother telling me "f*** you!" when he was 5 years old. He was really cute. Now he's just a big giant poopyhead.
