The site below can answer all your questions. They sale monkeys. They are expensive and high maintenance. Their are alot of monkeys answering your question ( the ones with dumb answers; you might want to buy one of them. LoL!!!

Yes, they're now illegal in Maryland. The legislation just passed this year. Hooray!
Monkeys are totally inappropriate pets.

I would recomend a marmoset or Capuchin, if you need help finding a quality breeder I'd be happy to help. I am very experienced in primate adoption and rescue and know several quality breeders around the nation. They make wonderful pets if you can devote yourself to them for 15-30 years and do your research. You also need to find a vet in your area who can help you and I would recomend starting with a very young baby so you can grow and learn together. I always thought i wanted a monkey too but they are tricky and hard to control and while dirty you might want to rethink this get a cat or dog much better not as cute but lot cleaner
