My husband is having a very difficult time comprehending sentence structure and verb usage. Aside from the "Dummy" books, do you know of any simple sites/books that might help him?

I have taught Spanish and I am fluent in the language. There is no easier way to learn the language than going to a country where it is spoken. Since your husband, and a friend?, is trying to learn from books, all I can say is that classes in the U.S are not given to teach the language. They are designed to teach you the engineering of the language, like a driver learning the engineering of a car before driving it. You could try Pimloux or Pimaloux. I'm not sure of the spelling, but it purports to teach you how to use the language by speaking it, rather than trying to cram grammar into your head.

ALM produces textbooks and records - well, they were records way back when. You might be able to borrow them from your library.
