Honestly, I would have to say that the Germans probably would've won. Italy didn't ever do much to help them, and Japan never did. So that left Germany alone to fight the Allies from two different fronts (USSR on the east, US and Britain on the west). For a good portion of the war, Germany was extending her front and probably could've captured both London and Moscow had the two cities not put up outstanding defensive efforts. And plus, German technology during WWII was outstanding (after all, they almost beat up to developing the a-bomb). And from the start of the war, Germany had much better means to produce war goods. It took America awhile to get tooled-in to the wartime production.

So, taking all that into effect and focusing it solely on America... no contest. Germany would kick butts and take names.

The German Army couldn't win against the U.S.

They stopped the invasion of England, because they haven't enough transport capacity to carry enough troops to invade the isle.
That was just for a few miles.
How could they transport the troops over the ocean?
The same on the U.S. side. They never could transport so much man to Europe/Germany without a place to collect them.

To jon_e_carcinogen, "America would have lost to Japan"? You gotta go back to your history books. At the time the United States dropped the atomic bombs, US troops were on Japaneses soil. US forces had already captured Iwo Jima and Okinawa. Tokyo was in ruins due to (convential) bombings. It was inevitable that Japan was going to lose. Dropping the atomic bombs just hastened their surrended, and sparred many American and Japanese lives (perhaps millions) had the US alternatively invaded the mainland of Japan.

If the Germans had managed to win the war before the development of the atomic bomb, maybe. After that, no contest.

No. The Germans didn't have the resources to blockade all of the coasts of the US, and the industrial capacity of the US far exceeded that of Germany.
