I've got nothing against anyone who WOULD own and cage up a big hairy arachnid, I'm just curious as I'm terrified of anything with 6 or more legs! Although I love praying mantises

I used to own one... why? Why do people like dogs, cats, birds, fish, etc.? Because they are cool and fascinating creatures. Some feel reptiles and invertebrates are ooey and icky, but to some, it's wonderful and interesting. I love reptiles, amphibians and inverts. I am a teacher and I have imparted this love for the "slimey" creatures to my students. I have a 7 year old girl in my class who wants to be an entemologist, another who wants to be a herpetologist, and a bunch of vets.
People need to be exposed to different things and not be so scared and discrminate against lower order animals. I am not a big fan of fur.. lol

I keep a pet cobalt blue tarantula, although you can't really call her a pet since she WILL bite at any chance given. I used to run screaming at the sight of a spider and found it so embarrassing that I thought that if I had to take care of one, I would get over it. Unfortunately, I am still afraid of spiders, if I see one, I still leave the area (but at least I'm not screaming and running at top speed). A tarantula isn't all that much like a house spider.

no i don't own a tarantula but i have 2 rats. All animals are really loving and should all be treated equally. There could be many reasons for wanting a tarantula. I used to want 1 and i also wanted a snake, but now i have 2 rats and a dog. P.S. I dunno why i wanted a tarantula and a snake, probably because i thought that they were cool.

No I do not. However I have those small spiders around the corners. Every one has those but are say they ATE them while they are sleep...Right! lol well at least they had midnight snack! LOL

I dont but I wouldnt mind one they wont bite unless they feel enclosed and threatened

My brother had one for a while and they don't do well domesticated. All its "fur" fell off and he died.
