I got the info below from Wikipedia at: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Perpetual_virginity_of_Mary. You might want to read the whole thing and not just this excerpt, it's very interesting.
"In A.D. 649 (the Lateran Synod) a statement covering the three specific aspects of virginity — before, during, and after the birth of Jesus — was issued. St. Thomas Aquinas (d. 1274) taught (Summa Theologiae III.28.2), in reply to three objections based on logic and observed facts of nature, that Mary gave birth painlessly in miraculous fashion without opening of the womb and without injury to the hymen. Pope Paul IV affirmed the three-fold belief in an ecclesiastical constitution, *** quorundam, August 7, 1555, at the Council of Trent (Denziger §993). The doctrine has been affirmed by the Roman Catholic Church as recently as the 1990s."
Many Blessings,

Why are you looking for 'fact' when it should be religious 'Truth' that you seek? Mary is indeed ever Virgin.
Exodus 13:2,12 - Jesus is sometimes referred to as the "first-born" son of Mary. But "first-born" is a common Jewish expression meaning the first child to open the womb. It has nothing to do the mother having future children.
Exodus 34:20 - under the Mosaic law, the "first-born" son had to be sanctified. "First-born" status does not require a "second" born.
Ezek. 44:2 - Ezekiel prophesies that no man shall pass through the gate by which the Lord entered the world. This is a prophecy of Mary's perpetual virginity. Mary remained a virgin before, during and after the birth of Jesus.
Mark 6:3 - Jesus was always referred to as "the" son of Mary, not "a" son of Mary. Also "brothers" could have theoretically been Joseph's children from a former marriage that was dissolved by death. However, it is most likely, perhaps most certainly, that Joseph was a virgin, just as were Jesus and Mary. As such, they embodied the true Holy Family, fully consecrated to God.
Luke 1:31,34 - the angel tells Mary that you "will" conceive (using the future tense). Mary responds by saying, "How shall this be?" Mary's response demonstrates that she had taken a vow of lifelong virginity by having no intention to have relations with a man. If Mary did not take such a vow of lifelong virginity, her question would make no sense at all (for we can assume she knew how a child is conceived). She was a consecrated Temple virgin as was an acceptable custom of the times.
Luke 2:41-51 - in searching for Jesus and finding Him in the temple, there is never any mention of other siblings.
John 7:3-4; Mark 3:21 - we see that younger "brothers" were advising Jesus. But this would have been extremely disrespectful for devout Jews if these were Jesus' biological brothers.
John 19:26-27 - it would have been unthinkable for Jesus to commit the care of his mother to a friend if he had brothers.
John 19:25 - the following verses prove that James and Joseph are Jesus' cousins and not his brothers: Mary the wife of Clopas is the sister of the Virgin Mary.
Matt. 27:61, 28:1 - Matthew even refers to Mary the wife of Clopas as "the other Mary."
Matt. 27:56; Mark 15:47 - Mary the wife of Clopas is the mother of James and Joseph.
Mark 6:3 - James and Joseph are called the "brothers" of Jesus. So James and Joseph are Jesus' cousins.
Matt. 10:3 - James is also called the son of "Alpheus." This does not disprove that James is the son of Clopas. The name Alpheus may be Aramaic for Clopas, or James took a Greek name like Saul (Paul), or Mary remarried a man named Alpheus.
Hope this helps.

The Bible says that Mary and Joseph had children after the virgin birth. In the gospel according to St. Matthew, Chapter 1, verses 24 and 25 it says that Joseph being raised from sleep did as the angel of the Lord had bidden him, and took unto him his wife: And knew her not till she had brought forth her firstborn son: and he called his name Jesus. Knew is a Hebrew idiom for co-habitation and fatherhood. It is plainly stated that Jesus had brothers (half-brothers), James, Joses, Simon, and Judas (not Iscariot), found in Matthew 13:55 He had half-sisters also-"are not his sisters here with us?" Matthew 13:56 They are referred to as "his own kin" and "his own house". The phrases, "his mother.....his brethren.....and his sisters" are used in the plain literal sense. Also, see St. Mark Chapter 6 verse 3.

Here's TWO proofs for you, from a Catholic girl- and straight from the Bible.
Joseph is described in the Bible as a "righteous" man. ( NOT a word used to describe many people in the Bible)He listened to the dream telling him to take Mary into his home. He obviously trusted her and trusted God.
Now put yourself in Joseph's sandals.
Your betrothed, now your wife, has given birth to a child you have every reason to believe is not only the long awaited Messiah, the promised Savior of Israel...but he is also the very Son of God.
Are you REALLY going to be concerned about having SEX with her????????????????????????????????????????????????
Think about it! What would a RIGHTEOUS man do???
Now, point #2. Fast forward to Jesus hanging on the cross. One of the very last things the Lord does before dying is present John to Mary as her son, and Mary to John as his mother.
We can be pretty certain Joseph died before Jesus started his public ministry, because while we hear accounts of his mother in different places Jesus was, we do not hear of Joseph being there.
IF Mary had other children, it would have been THEIR responsibility to take care of Mary until her death. Jewish Law says so. But Jesus had to provide for Mary's care by appointing a son to her. That tells us there was NO ONE to care for her, and she would have become a destitute beggar had she been widowed with her child dead.

Just go to the nearest church of Roman Catholic denomination and ask - they'll TELL ya what you need to know alright. You can count on that for sure! The Catholics have their OWN version of the Bible. If you do not understand the way the Roman Catholics rewrote the Holy Bible, then ask your local Catholic preist about enrolling in his Catholic Bible study class - but then keep in mind you'll be expected to join their parish.
AND AMEN TO cope_acetic's ansewr!!!!

I´m sorry but I don´t think there´s such a thing.
Not entering the discussion whether if Jesus had siblings or not (that´s not what you´re asking), any doctor could tell She lost Her virginity in the act of giving birth to baby Jesus (I´m not trying to be blaspheme, or anything).
but you can always explain religion questions by FAITH.
for example: She remained a Virgin because God made it possible.
You don´t explain Fatih issues.you just believe.

The Bible never says that Mary was anyone but an ordinary human female whom God chose to use in a extraordinary way. Yes, Mary was a righteous woman and favored by God (Luke 1:27-28). Mary was also a sinful human being just like everyone else – who needed Jesus Christ as her Savior just like everyone else (Romans 3:23; 6:23-24). Mary did not have an “immaculate conception” – there is no Biblical reason to believe Mary’s birth was anything but a normal human birth. Mary was a virgin when she gave birth to Jesus (Luke 1:34-38), but she did not remain a virgin her entire life. In fact, Joseph and Mary had several children together after Jesus was born. Jesus had four half-brothers: James, Joseph, Simon, and Judas (Matthew 13:55). Jesus also had half-sisters but they are not named or numbered (Matthew 13:55-56).
Mary was with the apostles on the day of Pentecost (Acts 1:14). However, Mary is never mentioned again after that passage. Mary’s death is not recorded in the Bible. Nothing is said about Mary ascending to Heaven or having an exalted place in Heaven. Mary is to be respected as the earthly mother of Jesus, but she is not worthy of our worship and she cannot hear our prayers. Jesus is our only advocate in Heaven (1 Timothy 2:5). Mary would say the same as the angels do when people try to worship them – “Worship God!” (Revelation 19:10; 22:9).
Many people mistakenly believe that the immaculate conception refers to the conception of Jesus Christ. Jesus’ conception was most assuredly immaculate…but this concept does not refer to Jesus at all. The immaculate conception is a doctrine of the Romans Catholic Church in regards to Mary, Jesus’ mother. An official statement of the doctrine reads, “…the blessed Virgin Mary to have been, from the first instant of her conception, by a singular grace and privilege of Almighty God, in view of the merits of Christ Jesus the Savior of Mankind, preserved free from all stain of original sin.” Essentially the immaculate conception is the belief that Mary was protected from original sin, that Mary did not have a sin nature. Some go so far as to teach that Mary was, in fact, sinless.
The problem with the doctrine of the immaculate conception is that it is not taught in the Bible. The Bible nowhere describes Mary as anything but an ordinary human female whom God chose to be the mother of the Lord Jesus Christ. Mary was undoubtedly a godly woman (Luke 1:28). Mary was surely a wonderful wife and mother. Jesus definitely loved and cherished His mother (John 19:27). The Bible gives us no reason to believe that Mary was sinless. In fact, the Bible gives us every reason to believe that Jesus Christ is the only Person who never committed a sin (Ecclesiastes 7:20; Romans 3:23; 2 Corinthians 5:21; 1 Peter 2:22; 1 John 3:5).
The doctrine of the immaculate conception originated out of confusion over how Jesus Christ could be born sinless if He was conceived inside of a sinful human female. The thought was that Jesus would have inherited a sinful nature from Mary had she been a sinner. In contrast to the immaculate conception, the Biblical solution to this problem is understanding that Jesus Himself was miraculously protected from being polluted by sin while He was inside Mary's womb. If God was capable of protecting Mary from sin, would He not be able to protect Jesus from sin? Therefore, Mary being sinless is neither necessary or Biblical.
So, the doctrine of the immaculate conception is neither Biblical or necessary. Jesus was miraculously conceived inside Mary, who was a virgin at the time. That is the Biblical concept of the virgin birth. The Bible does not even hint that there was anything significant about Mary’s conception. If we examine this concept logically, Mary’s mother would have to be immaculately conceived as well. How could Mary be conceived without sin if her mother was sinful? The same would have to be said of Mary’s grandmother, great-grandmother, and so on. So, in conclusion, the immaculate conception is not a Biblical teaching. The Bible teaches the miraculous virgin conception of Jesus Christ, not the immaculate conception of Mary.

It's not in the bible or anywhere else. It's another one of those things that Catholics made up, like the "sacred heart" or Mary's bodily ascension to heaven.
